da 888casino： News of Sisu’s bid for the cub being accepted was thought by many to be the end of this saga at least for now but instead we fans have been told we have to wait a month before anything is actually confirmed.
da apostebet： The football league are now the ones with the power. We fans have made our opinions clear and I sincerely hope that the football league take our views into account.
A little hope was given this week though from the administrator who was expected to be appointed until Sisu pre-emptively appointed their own. Brendan Guilfoyle has suggested what all us fans have been saying in that Sisu are going to struggle to fulfil the fit and proper persons test set by the football league.
He also played on the point that Paul Appleton hasn’t done his job properly as administrator. The club is in fact no better off than when it entered administration with Sisu remaining in control of the club. The club remains without a home ground for the coming season and without any set in stone plans for a new stadium which Sisu keep saying they are going to build.
The football league are going to require these ‘set in stone’ plans for them to approve this moving forward plan that sisu have for the club. This is what Brendan Guilfoyle has suggested but who knows what the football league genuinely require for this sale to be approved. Personally I still feel the football league will just roll over and let Sisu have the club.
The fact though we have to wait what looks to be another month until this is all sorted is an absolute joke. The players return for pre-season in the next few days and the club remains in administration with still many hurdles to cross before being allowed to come out of it.
There is to be a meeting of creditors which include Acl and obviously Sisu related companies. A vote will be undertaken on the agreed amounts of money to be paid back to the individuals owed. Obviously Sisu related companies will accept whatever is on offer as it is Sisu paying Sisu but Acl may well disrupt this process.
It is my understanding that the Acl bosses will have enough voting power in this process to undermine it and effectively force the club to remain in administration. This would obviously mean that they don’t receive any of the money they are owed but cutting their losses now to keep the pressure on Sisu may well be a tactic they deploy.
Things don’t exactly look any better when looking at our playing squad where eight players have been told they can leave and to say we now don’t have a squad is an understatement.
Out of these eight players who have been told they are free to leave there are five of them going to be noticeably missed. These five include Gary Mcsheffery, Cody McDonald, William Edjenguele, Jordan Clarke and Steven Jennings.
Beginning with the Coventry lads and Mcsheffery isn’t really too much of a surprise to be leaving. Once a fan favourites the winger/striker never hit the heights he achieved in his first spell with the club on his return and I personally am not too sad to see him leave bearing in mind he would have been one of the top earners at the club.
The other Coventry lad to leave is to me a big shock. Jordan Clarke has looked like a world beater at times in his Coventry career and I know I was expecting him to go onto bigger and better things. This doesn’t look the case at all and he never seems to have recovered from the injury which lost him his place in the team. It is a huge shame to see him go but with Cyrus Christie we have a right back who shows just as much promise.
Another who I am surprised to see leaving is Steven Jennings. He was a mainstay in the side last season and seemed to have real influence. I admit I was not convinced by him early on in the season as he reminded me of ex city player Michael Doyle a player who worked hard but looked like he had two ‘left’ feet. He settled in though and ended up being a bit of a breath of fresh air with his forward runs into the penalty area. We have lacked a player in midfield of doing this for such a long time and now we are releasing someone who does. A strange decision to say the least but we have to trust that Pressley knows what he is doing don’t we?
Cody Mcdonald on the other hand is no surprise to be told to leave. In and out of the squad since his arrival and even a loan move away last season saw his time at Coventry be a less than successful one. He came with a good goalscoring record but high criticism came from ex city manager Robins as he was loaned back to his old club Gillingham where he in fact started scoring goals again. On his brief return he again struggled at city and it is time for him to try pastures new.
It is though a shame when it comes to William Edjenguele. He is not the best centre half, far from it in fact but he was a character and someone who seemed to be loved throughout the club. Always the maker of jokes and an avid twitter user, he will be missed I’m sure but in terms of his footballing ability he is no massive loss.
The others told to leave include Chris Dunn who I think we will all remember for his calamity goalkeeping in the Johnstone’s Paint trophy and Kevin Malaga that is if anyone is going to take him which I’m not so sure they will.
Finally David Bell rumoured to be the clubs top earner has finally been given his marching orders. He has never really performed in a Skyblue shirt but I still stick with my opinion that there is a quality player within him. His type of play when he was good always reminded me of Beckham but he just didn’t seem to have his heart in it and I’m sure the majority of fans won’t be sad to see him go. He did leave us with a goal which Beckham himself would have been proud of with his almost halfway line goal against Doncaster beating a stranded Neil Sullivan.
My concern now is how does Pressley intend on replacing these players with the club not allowed to sign any player until it comes out of administration. We have already lost one target and many more will follow if they have any sense leaving us with the players no one else wants. We are in for a long season and if things keep going like they are I may not only be staying away from the games but turning the radio off too
